Movendo’s launch in Europe at Portuguese design exhibition, Casa Aberta, 2023, Lisbon, Portugal

Movendo debuted in Europe at Casa Aberta's 3rd edition in December 2023, in Lisbon. Our brand felt right at home in the most colourful version of the event ever, which is hosted by multibrand store, Santo Infante (the 1st to represent Movendo). For this occasion, we unveiled the Wheeliam Play "off the wall" version, respecting the original Pombaline home tiles. This eye-catching piece in an exclusive buttery yellow hue took center stage in the living area, drawing attention with its detachable trolley. Simultaneously, our shoe rack, Susie, shone in the entrance hall. Movendo’s CEO, Leïlah Accioly, led a talk on the future of homes and the smart furniture revolution at the pop-up showcase.

Your coffee corner doesn't have to look like, well, coffee. Have your favorite creamy beverage and even coffee 😅 in this ethereal spot with Wheeliam as your supporter. Go for a blush tone on the wall to match with an arched fluffy lamp or maximalist terrazzo-patterned stickers. Hang a thematic fancy poster, like Gisele Dekel's "Coffee Ladies" (which we love) and complete the look with quirky cups and the statement vintage teapot designed by Pierre Casenove for Salins Studio.

Nothing better than coming home to a dedicated space for your keys, bills, glasses, and whatever else you need stored in elegant drawers, while simultaneously showcasing decorative objects on the surface. This is what Wallie in Lavender Macaron melamine offers in its sideboard version, creating a welcoming atmosphere in this hall that resembles a wheat field, thanks to the applied color on the wall.

Feel the gentle breeze in this tropical-inspired living space, where the designated home office area stands out with a painted portal complemented by our wall-mounted desk, Wallie, in Guava Juice melamine. The terrazzo floor refreshes the warmth of the colors with its jelly-like appearance. The light-pink couch provides a striking contrast to the green tones, creating an atmosphere that is both earthy and dreamy.

Get the Mondrian vibes in this relaxing blend of home office and living, featuring our shelving system, Mazie, paired with our Volpi desk, Wallie, and the handy assistant, Wheeliam, in the TV area. Almost the whole Movendo’s family fits in this compact space, proving how our furniture was well-thought for small homes. The white base adorned with a grid of lines in primary colors pays homage to Piet Mondrian, the influential Dutch artist synonymous with abstract art and a key figure in the Neoplasticism movement.

This luxury library room holds treasures of knowledge alongside amber glass vases in the Mazie shelving system by Movendo. Brazilian mid-century design icons, such as the super comfy Poltrona Mole and the geometrically glorious Andorinha coffee table, intertwine with this solar Arab mood provided by solid gold, sage green, and wheat tones. This magic carpet ride takes on full form with an illustration by Edmund Dulac borrowed from "Stories from the Arabian Nights" and the melted-like clock by Ferm Living, implying time is an illusion when you're reading.
If you’re into gastronomy and crave a classy, otherworldly kitchen that makes you feel surrounded by liquid nitrogen in a molecular restaurant, this one is for you! Mixed light and dark terrazzo coatings set the basis for high-end appliances in inox finishings, putting you in a starry sky mood. The sleek Wheeliam in Silver Cake lacquered finishing, diamond-shaped light pendants, deconstructed accessories, and an illustration by Tishk Barzanji with its surreal, fast-moving world complement this portal to another dimension.

PLAYWORK

Home office for design magazine’s 2-month exhibition, Casa NaToca, 2018, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This was not your average home office, it was rather a multifunctional space designed for kids and adults to seamlessly integrate work and play. With creative family furniture that included unique storage solutions, this room provided a comfortable and practical environment for everyone to pursue their daily activities. The daybed, typically seen as fitted bedroom furniture, worked as a cozy cocoon that invited adults and children alike to unwind, read, listen to music, and spend quality time together. Additionally, the room featured Rockah's first version as well as a little indoor park that encouraged the development of psychomotor skills.

Integrating kids and parents has never been easier! This is the promotional video for our PlayWork line presented at the Casa NaToca exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Filmed by Sambacine, it captured the sheer joy of a mother who was able to work while her children were entertained by smart furniture and the sensorially stimulating environment. This is what occurred during the two-month exhibition. The home office of a house that prioritized children transformed into the favorite spot for visiting families.

BENTO’S PLAY+BEDROOM

This PlayWork’s spin-off was a testament to Movendo’s innovative frame system, which allowed for customisation based on the unique needs and preferences of customers. The result was a blend of bedroom and Montessori playroom complete with an expanded version of our indoor park. Given the space of under 10m2, storage solutions for small spaces were a must-have. The open concept wardrobe was combined with a hybrid of TV panel and shelves, inspired by the shape sorter toy beloved by Bento. A river-shaped rug designed by Movendo smartly provided the setting for Rockah’s climbing bridge feature.

MONTESSORI BEDROOM

That’s all about both encouraging individuality and sibling harmony. In this shared bedroom, an innovative complex of Montessori floor beds and storage unit with a changing table enabled this balance. Meanwhile, a mountain-shaped decorative wall panel provided diffuse lighting for changing diapers during the night, without disturbing the other toddler's sleep. Additionally, the lower portion of the wardrobe featured a special opening allowing the little girl to have her own dressing area with easy access to her favorite clothes. The curtain designed by BW Design and a rug by Movendo, created from a cardboard collage by Leïlah Accioly provided pops of colour in the serene atmosphere.

LISBON STUDIO

Living room for a 30-year old photographer who loves nature and to travel, 2020, Lisbon, Portugal.

This cozy and soft ambiance has an autumnal palette inspired by the client’s favourite season. Geometric paintings are protagonists with an arch creating an area for the old gold bar, renewed by Movendo, and the stylised butterfly wings act as the perfect frame for Paipai fans made of natural palm leaf. The wow factor comes from the sumptuous acrylic lamp designed by Movendo remounting to a petal. The exclusive multifunctional table by Movendo serves as both a side table and a trolley, with side boards featuring an eastern-inspired organic paisley pattern known as cashmere. Its cypress tree’s symbolism resonates with the client's mystical and adventurous spirit.
